FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know about Curtyn. If your question is not here, reach out and we will be happy to help.
What is Curtyn?
Curtyn is a platform for creative professionals to manage projects and share work with clients through portal links. You build a project, add modules like videos, photos, forms, and timelines, and share a link. Your client opens the link and sees everything you want them to see.
Who is Curtyn for?
Curtyn is built for freelance creatives, small studios, and production companies. Think videographers, photographers, designers, and creative agencies. If you work with clients and need a clean way to share work and collect feedback, Curtyn is for you.
Is Curtyn available right now?
Curtyn is currently in closed beta. We are refining the experience and working closely with a small group of early users. Sign-ups are paused for now, but you can explore the features and pricing on this site to see what is available and what is coming.
How can I get access to the beta?
Right now, access is by invitation only. We will announce when the beta opens up more broadly. Keep an eye on the blog and updates page for news.
What is the difference between a project and a portal?
A project is what you build inside Curtyn. You add modules, upload files, and organise everything. A portal is what your client sees when you share the link. It is a clean, focused view of the project without all the editing tools.
Do my clients need to create an account?
No. That is one of the core principles of Curtyn. Your client opens a link and sees the portal. No sign-up, no login, no password to remember. It just works.
Can I share portals however I want?
Yes. You get a link and you share it however works best for you. iMessage, WhatsApp, email, Slack, or anything else. Curtyn does not force you into a specific sharing method.
Does the portal work on mobile?
Yes. The client portal is fully responsive and works on any device with a browser.
What happens when I update my project after sharing it?
The link stays the same and your client will see the updated content the next time they open it. You do not need to send a new link.
What modules are available right now?
The current beta includes five modules: video, photos, forms, timeline, and files. More modules are in development and will be rolled out during the beta, including contracts, proposals, mood boards, embeds, and production tools.
What video formats are supported?
Curtyn supports MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI, and MKV. Large files are automatically compressed during upload to keep things fast.
Can clients select their favourite photos?
Yes. When you share a photo gallery, clients can browse in grid or carousel view and select the photos they want. You see their selections instantly.
What kind of forms can I create?
You can create forms for onboarding, creative briefs, feedback, event RSVPs, or anything else. There are over 16 field types including text, file upload, email, phone, date, and rating. You can also start from a preset template.
What can I do with timelines?
Timelines let you map out project phases with dates, milestones, and status indicators. Your client can see where things stand and each phase shows a countdown to its deadline.
What features are coming next?
We are working on e-signatures, invoicing, time tracking, mileage logging, client management, custom branding, proposals, templates, team chat, analytics, and production tools like shot lists and call sheets. Check the features page for the full roadmap.
Will there be invoicing?
Yes. Invoicing is one of the features we are building. It will include line items, VAT support, multiple layout templates, shareable payment links, and the ability to convert tracked hours into invoice line items.
Will there be e-signatures?
Yes. Contracts with e-signatures are in development. You will be able to create contracts, add signers, and let clients sign directly in the portal with a full audit trail.
Will I be able to use my own branding?
Yes. Custom branding is on the roadmap. You will be able to upload your logo, set accent colours, and add watermarks. White-label domain support is also planned.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The free tier includes 2 projects, 5 GB of storage, and the core modules. It is a real free tier, not a time-limited trial.
What will the paid tiers cost?
The Pro tier is 29 euros per month with 15 projects and 100 GB of storage. The Studio tier is 49 euros per month with unlimited projects, 2 TB of storage, and 3 team seats. Check the pricing page for the full breakdown.
Can I add more team seats?
Yes. Additional seats are available for 9 euros per seat per month on the Pro and Studio tiers.
Where is my data stored?
Curtyn uses Supabase with PostgreSQL for data storage and cloud storage for files and videos. Your data is backed up regularly and stored securely.
Is the creator dashboard mobile-friendly?
The creator dashboard is optimised for desktop but accessible on tablets. The client portal works on any device.
